Small Animal Clinical Practice

This discipline is split into two sub-categories. We recognize that veterinary medicine is progressing and there is a demand for more specialized service in veterinary medicine. Following in the footsteps of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, technicians can specialize in either canine/feline clinical practice, or feline clinical practice.

In order to qualify for the AVTCP exam, candidates must demonstrate their expertise in their specific discipline. They must have worked 10,000 hours (full time for 5 years) with at least 75% of that time working in the discipline of their choice (either canine/feline, or feline only). Please go to the specialty subcategory page for specifics about applying for your chosen discipline.
